2023 CVSA International Roadcheck

We wanted to share some important information regarding the upcoming 2023 CVSA International Roadcheck, with a particular emphasis on anti-lock braking systems (ABS) compliance and Cargo Securement. Rest assured, as an EXO Freight shipper, you can count on us to help you navigate through this period.

What is CVSA International Roadcheck?
The CVSA International Roadcheck is an annual initiative focused on identifying and addressing any safety concerns with equipment or drivers on the road. The goal is to prevent problems and potential accidents by ensuring all trucks and drivers meet safety standards. This year, there will be a special focus on ABS compliance and Cargo Securement.

When and Where?
The CVSA International Roadcheck will take place from Tuesday, May 16th through Thursday, May 18th on highways across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

What to Expect?

  1. Tighter capacity - The number of available carriers may temporarily decrease.
  2. Increased open deck market prices - With reduced carrier supply and steady demand, spot rates may inflate.
  3. Delayed market normalization - Although more drivers will re-enter the capacity pool after the Roadcheck, some may choose to take the entire week off or be temporarily out-of-service due to DOT violations. Additionally, any freight that did not get picked up during the Roadcheck may roll over to Friday's board.
